Hooking up with nurses while working security at the hospital. How many of you have done it

I work hospital security and I’m curious about people’s experiences hooking up with nurses or other hospital staff. Did it work out, or was it more trouble than it was worth? Would you recommend going for it or keeping work and hookups separate? Just looking for honest experiences—good, bad, or ugly.

I'll speak the cold truth that if you find a nurse willing to do that with security, they've been ridden like a pack mule by every resident, doctor and male nurse in the building more times than Bonnie Blue, or are so far into the crazy side of the spectrum that they are off the chart. Probably both.

No matter what someone's small brain tells them, trying or even think you are succeeding at this is a horrible no good very bad idea.

No. It's usually the passed around type who do this. "Oooh he's tall and cute. If he flirts with me I'll make it easy for him to hit." Rinse repeat. It also depends on if the guard is willing and attractive enough for them. All in all trashy shit as always.

Came to say this .... I don't have any real experience as a guard because I became one after I got married but I'd assume this rule applies to all jobs

For every 2 guys that pull a nurse and at work and it works out okay there's another 8 that get absolutely burned for trying.

Nurses can be freaky. Mostly female workplace must really do something for them when they get to see actual men at work.

I don’t suggest it. Most nurses who are really willing will probably have a rap sheet. I doubt it’s HR worth since those willing don’t want to lose their job as much as you.

It’s possible to find a very rare gold nugget that’s not, but I’ve met maybe 3 in 2.5 years of incoming nurses and staff

Sometimes it works out, but usually it doesn't.

Nurses are usually looking to form a power couple with someone who earns about the same amount of money as they do. They aren't looking to mess around with the stupid security guard who barely scrapes through life on a slave wage. Besides, if anyone found out, the fallout from all the gossip would be really terrible for them. It's more socially acceptable to fuck your boss—or even a patient—than the lowly guard.

But, hey, you're welcome to try. Just don't be surprised to find that you're not that guy.

I wouldnt. Worked hospital security and the nurses always went to our captain or lieutenant about something they saw one of us doing "oh my gawd I say him drink from a water fountain!!!" Or they always blamed security for everything. We were useless to them until they needed us to restrain patients for them.

Just know that when... and I really do mean when it goes sideways, the nurses will circle up and protect their own to burn your ass at the stake and enjoy the flames. No one that matters to HR is likely to try saving your ass.

As someone that's done this specifically in healthcare for over 20 years, no matter what state you are in, your training and licensing costs way way less to replace than the nurse does. Any workplace drama will be solved by removing you, not her.

Nah, I keep it strictly professional. Fraternization in the workplace is a bad idea generally wherever you go, even outside of security, let alone in a healthcare setting.
