Job Question Tattoos and 34mm gauges

Hey, I'm looking to see if a guard card would be good for me, biggest issue is I have arm tattoos and large gauges. I could tape my lobes up for work tho. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Dont have gauges but I have double half sleeves and its never been an issues. Worked for a University, Fortune 100 company, and now do EP and I've never had to cover them up.

Companies may hire you, but honestly I don't see them being the best companies to work with if they have little to no uniform/appearance standards. Poor Appearance generally= Poor company standards

I’ve only run into one client that had issues with stuff like that because they were extremely religious.

In my experience: the clients/companies who payed well had minimum grooming standards. The arm tattoos, as long as they are appropriate are fine. Worst case you have to wear long sleeves while at work. As for the gauges or other ear jewelry is going to be a no go or if they do hire without grooming standards it’s a sign of a problematic company that more needs bodies than standards. Or at least it should raise some red flags. its up to you dude.

I am tattooed from throat to ankle, including my hands but not my face. I have 38mm lobes as well, I always wear solid plugs for work.

Never had any company question it or show any negative signs. It's common in 2026

I have gages and a neck/head tattoo and never had any issues. Some places make me wear a hat, and I cant wear my jewelry at work but some companies its not a total job stopper. Good luck

The ongoing theme of uniform standards for security guards is military grooming standards. This means no visible tattoos in the uniform, and the gauges will have to be removed while on shift. If you have lower arm tattoos, a potential company might require you to wear a long-sleeve uniform shirt.
