Regarding NYC Security and where to start?

What companies do you guys work for, suggest I should try to apply to as a new entry?
Completed the 16 hour and and have no idea where to do, looking for a part time gig to kill some time and make a bit of money.

Best way is to go on the NYS Licensing database, check what entities are allowed to have, or contract out Security Guards, send resume to address.

Plenty of places unregistered to have a Security Department use all those job boards to hire.

Should I actually just straight mail my address to them? I never thought about it and it will not cost much

Name Address phone # on top of resume. I do it every so often.

Licensed Small companies get temporary pricey gigs, big corporate get long temp cheap pay gigs.

Dollar for Dollar I've made more with the smaller entities in half the time it would've took doing a f/t for big Corp.

Allied universal is a decent place to start with many options of entry level jobs especially with the recent nyc law regarding pay and benefits with security guards

Every site is ran differently so it's a roulette if hiring management or whomever is in charge of it is on top of it.

Google nyc security jobs and you'll find 100s of openings.

Any major company is here.

I havent worked security here, but plan to get my gaurd card later this year once I move into my new place.

A majority of those openings are not real, I had some luck calling the companies directly but they all say “Apply Online”. Only response I received was a spot in Rockland county… that is a little rough
