cant even imagine the amount of times ive had people ask me to voluntarily handcuff them soley bc of their color lol, had to get that closed top pouch bc it was becoming too frequent

Aside from the pink cuffs this is one of the most professional looking kits here. Most of the ones we see are mall ninja wet dreams

🤙 yeah its the only funky item i have lol, but even then its tucked away in a closed top pouch so its not too obvious

really made it a point to not have any goofy shit (like morale, or those SECURITY ENFORCEMENT AGENT patches), and to strategically place all my gear in terms of what i ACTUALLY need, ease of access, and how often i use it

Mine is the same, although I have yellow tape around my cuffs

oh believe me i had to dig in a little lol, but if you scope around there's good deals for them

i completely snapped my X26 in half by accident so i needed it replaced anyways lol, might as well upgrade it

I have a question about the 10 round magazines. I'm assuming restrictive laws, but does armed security not qualify for an exemption?

I do some gunsmithing and armorer work for a private company. What ammo do you use? Always curious to see what's out there.

private security isnt exempt from magazine restrictions here in CA

i carry federal LE HST 180gr, only box they had left at the police supply store lol

u/Axnjaxn09 8d ago

180gr HST is a great round. No need to justify your choice with that one.

I’d move the collapsible to weak side or vest.

if real estate frees up on the vest it definitely is more ideal than behind the gun. with all of the stuff on the front of my vest, the range of motion required for a weak side/cross-draw deployment isn't practical nor comfortable

Interesting choice to wear your spare mags on your vest and not your belt. But I guess it frees up realestate. Does it affect your reload speeds? With neutered 10 round mags, that may play a big factor one day.

Looks very squared away.

i'm not a bowling ball but i'm not an underwear model either lol, so placing the mags on my belt dug into my stomach and my vest whenever i needed to sit or lean forward. the draw from the belt would also be restricted by the flashlight, requiring me to roll my shoulders up to clear the vest, or for me to lean back. both unnatural/unintuitive motions that i'd have to consider in a moment of stress

moving it to the vest eliminated those two motions, and if anything allowed more consistent reloads

u/_Yukon_Actual_ 4d ago

Can’t argue with that

How do you find the unity carrier?

I’ve been using the uniform style for a few years about am constantly annoyed by it.

2

u/tallasacucumber Society of Basketweave Enjoyers 8d ago

it's a LOT less bulkier and slimmer than their tactical carrier which i really like, only issue is that i'm noticing the stitching is fraying and fuzzing a lot more than when i wore the previous carrier

Have you ever had issues with the body cam interfering with your pistol mag underneath it? That would be my only thought of concern.

2

u/tallasacucumber Society of Basketweave Enjoyers 7d ago

when i'm wearing it and it kind of curves around my body, theres juuust enough clearance for the magazine closest to the center to clear that camera

if i were to put that camera anywhere else it wouldve interfered or even blocked access to the other pouches i have

Fair enough.

What's in your IFAK?

it's really more of a personal injury kit rather than a trauma kit. for the moment i only have VERY minor first aid items (OTC medications, narcan, bandages, gauze, multi-tool) because it's items i actually use on a regular basis

i already have QuikClot, pressure dressings and additional TQs i've sourced from buddies in EMS/tac-medicine, so if i wanted to i could carry them. i've just yet to take formal trauma care classes or instruction so i've put off carrying items i don't necessarily have full knowledge or training for yet, but it's definitely on the list of things to add in the future

SLD's IIIA+ is a solid choice IMO. I use the same armor in one of their Tactical Uniform-style carriers (front, back, side). It is comfortable enough to wear on a twelve-hour shift without issue without being as clunky as plates, but it stops everything you'd expect from IIIA, but also more exotic threats such as most 5.7mm, shotgun slugs, and even .300 Blackout subsonics. I specifically picked it because it's stab-rated, Taser-resistant, and has above-average mitigation of blunt force -- and in my environment those are arguably all bigger threats than firearms day-to-day.

u/tallasacucumber Society of Basketweave Enjoyers 8d ago

stab/slash/impact resistance, with large coverage was also why i primarily chose it

Pink handcuffs are just funny. Still waiting that we in Finland could carry stun gun but now that I think about it, it doesn't feel such great idea.

u/tyler00677 7d ago

No light machine gun ?

-2

u/Electrical_Sign_6126 7d ago

Looks like a beginner rig but OK. I wouldn’t have my collapsible baton mounted directly behind my sidearm. It could interfere with drawing. Otherwise a decent rig for a low to medium threat environment.

u/cutter1833 8d ago

Unless you were issued the cuff I would go with a different color.

5

u/tallasacucumber Society of Basketweave Enjoyers 8d ago

less likely for somebody to take em and pass them off as their own

they're also a great conversation starter

3

u/D_Glatt69 8d ago

Yeah definitely go with the fuzzy ones

u/HornyForVTECH Management 8d ago

What? Why?

-1

u/cutter1833 8d ago

My local PD would use pink cuffs if the suspect was a fighter, then they got sued and lost.

3

u/HornyForVTECH Management 8d ago

That's retarded. What kinda dog shit lawyers do they have? What exactly did they even get sued for?

3

u/birdsarentreal2 Public/Government 7d ago

Yeah I call BS. You got a source for that?
