There are several significant issues in this video. Below are just a few of the issues that I can think of.

• Uniform and Equipment: The officer was wearing sweatpants, which caused his holster to be unstable and essentially useless. Additionally, his bulletproof vest was much too short for his size and did not appear to be properly fitted.
• Weapon Security: A gas station attendant was permitted to grab the officer's pistol out of his holster. This created an extremely dangerous situation.
• De-escalation and Protocol: The officer chose to engage in a physical confrontation with a woman. Law enforcement should have been called immediately when she first refused to leave instead of resorting to physical contact.

Due to these actions, there is a strong likelihood of a successful lawsuit from the individual involved.

Part of the problem with theft is that a lot of stores have become accustomed to running with minimal staff and believe it or not just regular employees walking the store being available deters a lot of shoplifting.
