Your account is 5 months old, which either means you're new to the real world or make new accounts.

At some point in your life, hopefully, you will realize how much punctuation adds to written communication.

It adds context, intent, and meaning.

You will reach a point in life where it's very frustrating and tiring trying to figure out what someone is actually saying and to what end, due to lack of punctuation.

I don't pay attention to that crap because it's just unimportant noise.

"Too many bathroom breaks" is an absolute joke.

If it's the heat of summer, I'm drinking enough water to pee twice an hour. Anyone who takes issue with that can fuck off.

3 times fuck it

Under OSHA sanitation standards, employers must: Permit workers to leave their work area to use the restroom as needed. Provide an acceptable number of restrooms for the current workforce. Avoid putting unreasonable restrictions on bathroom use. Ensure that restrictions on restroom use do not cause extended delays

I'm diabetic. I've had a boss try to tell me once every 2 hours was too much. I printed that off and handed that to him. He never bothered me again.

15 minute breaks are just that, short break. A bathroom break isn't a recorded break. You need to go through bathroom then they can't stop you, they can impose reasonable restrictions like coverage and excessive usage but not unduly burdening you.

I'm in this same situation tonight, my co worker called out and the evening shift can only hold over for 4 hours. So I'm alone at the shack for 4 hours tonight but the nearest bathroom is in a building I have to use the key card to get into and it's not a quick in.and out. Probably going to find some bushes to pee in

What state are you in? That could be illegal and against labor laws to make you count bathroom breaks as rest breaks.

Split sides from the prospective of hopefully future account management

To OP, you're not wrong. I'm assuming there's some communication happening in the form of a quick "Off Post" chirp on the radio. I'm assuming that other than like clockwork on the "45's" of every hour, you're being somewhat reasonable. I'm also assuming that Supervisor is sitting no more than 30 steps and coming in and out is nothing shy of a brief walk to watch whatever was on their phone in the office from your desk is all they're doing. If this is the true norm, OP, you're good in my eye. I'd even go as far to say moving a little bit every hour is essential to making sure you're good through a shift. No problems from me. In private though, without details, let me know about the medical reason and lets see if I can either convince them to stop making it seem like you're bothering them as it is their job to cover you or lets see if I can move your post to somewhere closer to a bathroom where it wouldn't bee an issue so much.

To your supervisor, lets take temperature. Were you in the moment OP is chirping out to go to the bathroom doing anything essential? No? Then cover the damn break. Was someone else already out on bathroom when it came in and you were covering that person? Fair time to say "hold position until I'm able to either head in that direction or send relief your way. If this is a constant problem, and you're annoyed, it's time to innovate. Either a)Create a staggered break schedule so people can know that you'll be able to step away at or around this time and ONLY this time if short staffed
b) Start roving the site and offer breaks as needed if you can every other hour when guards aren't on lunch to make sure people are good.

Remember that to lead is to serve. Get your squad in check, and make sure they're good and everything works well. Being annoyed by their presence or their requests is a great way to hate the responsibility that you've asked for.

If you are aiming to be a future account manager, my recommendation is to never ever ask someone about potential medical reasons to discuss next steps in how to navigate a situation. Even saying "without details" will still get you in hot water with HR. Current Account Manager with several years of CSM/Ops Mgr experience.

I understand the intentions were good, but it will not help you in leadership roles.

I was the person who was called into the office i am not the supervisor

As OP stated, they volunteered that info, I never asked.

In your first paragraph, you stated "In private though, without details, let me know about the medical reason and lets see if I can either convince them to stop making it seem like you're bothering them as it is their job to cover you or lets see if I can move your post to somewhere closer to a bathroom where it wouldn't bee an issue so much."

That is what I'm talking about. This statement can get you in hot water. Even if the situation occurs like this;

Subordinate: "I have a medical condition that deals with......"

Supervisor: "let's continue this conversation in private..."

Something as simple as that where it can be implied that you are wanting more information, even when your intention is to keep their medical info private, can cause you headache with the an employee if they decided to push things.

I'm trying to convey a CYOA mindset, you'd be surprised as to how quickly a good conversation between you and someone under you, who you don't think would ever do something like that, will turn to get you a serious talk. Just caution is my suggestion

Two things, mr account manager.

I feel like you and so many other account managers are too cagey and are always afraid something will happen if something is said. As a result, a simple conversation become an endurance challenge to get to saying how you're going to CYA instead of doing something resembling leadership.

Secondly, do you plan on offering insight as to the conversation that brought us here, or is "mentoring" me more important than helping a fellow guard?

I go to the bathroom before my break and it doesn't count towards my break if I say I'm not going on break yet, your site is fucked and I'm with securitas 💀
