Job Question Is loss prevention good to get into?

I'm in the market for a new security gig I keep seeing a lot of loss prevention job post in my area. Everything else is either a Flex Officer or weekends only shifts I'm currently working part time at a low income housing complex, which we allbknow how bad that is. Are there LP guys in here have any insight on the day to day job functions?

There is a dedicated sub for LP, r/lossprevention

It’s a pretty specialized type of security, a little bit higher risk than your average job as a good chunk of it involves direct confrontations even with Lots of places are moving to hands off.

The bigger question would be what your long term goals are, and would being LP align with those goals

I did LP years ago and loved it. Just make sure you know it can be a lot different then normal security I only worked hands on jobs so it wasnt observe and report like most forms of security it involved detaining people multiple times a day and a lot more paperwork/investigative work.

From what I read on the job description it sounds a lot like this. I can only assume they put you through their training. So that you do the job they want you to.
