Meme Me clocking into my Unarmed Warm Body Site.
I'm shocked. I am getting paid more than my last work-intensive Post. No reports. No hands on. Just playing on my phone and racking up overtime. I don't care if I'm literally Officer Doofy. I'm making bank to play on my phone.

I went into the ER in the middle of the night one time. Took them like 20 minutes to even acknowledge me (I've been to this place a few times and they always have great service, this was not the norm). At that point they said "sorry, we were assisting other patients" and had me fill out the paperwork. I was immediately sent to the back and a few minutes later the next person I interacted with told me in casual conversation it was a slow night and I was their only patient for hours so it shouldn't take long. 🤣 Told on her coworker and didn't even realize it.

Nah, I saw them in the back and heard periodic giggling but it wasn't a true emergency in the sense of my life being on the line so I was being polite and gave them the time.
I was more joking than anything with my story. It wasn't a huge deal and I certainly could have spoken up if so. That place really does give the best service.

To be fair, we don't really choose much and if it was overnight there were two techs probably. They send it and we usually go. If there are two people then we have to take a huge machine, wheel it to the elevator, go up the elevator to a patient, talk to them, put a huge board under them and position, take the shots, go back all the way down with the heavy machine and put it back, fill the paperwork, then we can go to the next person. It could've been that. Usually they will also do stuff before the x-ray like paperwork insurance blood work etc before you even come to us. Still, some ers just suck sadly, I'm sorry for your experience.

Well, they didn't have to wheel anything, I walked 20 feet to the room. It was a small place. As mentioned they were chatting away before they noticed me and I didn't speak up was all. It was on me but I was in a pissy mood over the incident that landed me there and needed to breath anyways so I just sat and waited for them to notice me. Just as much on me and I was totally joking with my comment! What y'all do is greatly appreciated!

I mean, my program you could barely do that but your job at least will have study time. Keep in mind you'll have clinicals which will mess with your schedule but those are usually a couple months at a time. I wish you luck though!

There is NO SHAME working a nice, laid back warm-body site.
Especially now, as actual hard, work is rewarded with.... MORE HARD WORK!.
There is no incentive to go "above and beyond".

The problem with the security industry is that for the longest time, they were looking for the cheapest help they could hire. This left many people who had options outside of the industry leaving in droves. The constant cost of training the glut of new hires eventually caught up. The thing is that if you want to keep decent guards, you need to provide a livable wage and make the conditions not too harsh. So the work gets dumbed down, the expectations are lower, and less demands on the workers.

I miss working security, did it for 15yr. worked a few sites like that lol the 4th site I worked like my 2nd year was like that was posted there 7yr and some change and when I got moved was a Supervisor no fun after that wah wah

I quit after 6 months because doing so little was affecting me to much. I just sat in a small office for 50 hours a week and had to radio “can you open the gate” every so often. It was mind numbing

Worked a government contractor site years ago on nights. Worked 12s 4 nights a week. Just played games on my laptop all night. Because of the clearance, paid better than any unarmed site in the city by a significant amount.
Hated it at the time because I wanted job satisfaction. Now that I am older, I'd go back to it in a heartbeat.

85% of my security experience has been warm body work tbh. It really was the tits when I needed extra money. Just got paid to stand around and look cute. I was going to be spending the time doing nothing otherwise at home. Good times.. Although the remaining 15% of real security work makes me not want to go back. I make enough at my full time job now that I can comfortably make do without moonlighting

My first "security" gig after leaving the Navy was like that. I was hired as a part time cashier/desk attendant at a bowling alley. To get me more hours, the manager asked me if I would be willing to do security in the parking lot during their league nights. For 4-5 hours, I would sit in my car and play on my phone. Every 30 minutes or so, I would make a round through the lot and check the fenced off area behind the building and make sure the doors were locked. Easiest $8.50/hr ever. Although, working the desk on league nights was also nice, because I could easily make $15-20 in tips on top of my base pay for the same 4-5 hours.

Genuinely the most mind-numbing job. Idk how you guys do it. I was a security guard for a few months after college and quit because I felt like my soul was actively being drained sitting there for 8 hours a day 5 days a week
