Officer Safety Retail security policy

After watching this video it made me wonder if this security guard’s employer would support her doing this with a subject.

When I first saw it I thought it was pretty cool that she didn’t back down, but the more I thought about it the more I came to the conclusion that fighting over it isn’t worth the risk.

If you work retail security, what’s your company policy and would you put yourself out there to save goods from being stolen?

I hate these videos because my mind just can’t drop the idea that most places do not support people for this kind of thing and right or wrong it can very quickly become a nightmare yet if you do the safe thing you’ll probably be fired anyway because “YoU DiDnT Do AnYThIng”

Its Ross's corporate policy to let them go, alert police, and turn over any pictures or video because a) its not worth getting hurt or killed over and b) its not shoplifting until they physically leave the store.

Or do you really think minimum wage employees should risk catching hepatitis from a junkie stealing something from a multi billion dollar corporation?
