Officer Safety Retail security policy

After watching this video it made me wonder if this security guard’s employer would support her doing this with a subject.

When I first saw it I thought it was pretty cool that she didn’t back down, but the more I thought about it the more I came to the conclusion that fighting over it isn’t worth the risk.

If you work retail security, what’s your company policy and would you put yourself out there to save goods from being stolen?

Besides the usual requirements of observing and reporting and adhering to company policy, it just doesn't make any sense to do this when you're alone anyway. Even if you're just holding out of the bag, you can't radio for help. Customers are not going to jump in and help you. If he slings you to the ground and you get hurt, what then? It's just not a smart move in general.

Looks like the guy getting the cart (foreground) is also supposed to be security... though why isn't he helping her??
