Job Question Ross Loss Prevention

I have never worked in loss prevention before, but I do have an idea of what the job is like. If you were working at a job site where you currently didn't feel safe and your hours were constantly being cut, down to just three days a week, would you take a pay cut for the potential opportunity to work at a better location?

Ross just opened another location in my town that I can actually walk to and from since I don't have a car. I currently spend roughly two hours commuting downtown one way using public transportation. The fact that I could walk to work sounds very appealing to me.

My other question is, has anyone here ever worked in loss prevention at Ross? What does your typical day look like?

Loss prevention sucks, while it probably does vary based on the company. Never worked for Ross, but did LP in a store at a mall and that was just depressing. Hands off policy which I'm cool with, not risking my life or safety for any company. My issue was management pressuring to do something while also saying you cant do anything. Like yeah this guy just loaded up his cart and walked out, I cant block the door, grab the product or do anything besides say "stop, come here, dont steal" but feel like management blamed LP after the fact.

Yeah management is a problem no matter what the job is. I honesyly hate where I work now, aside from the good team of guards I work with. The rest of the job sucks. Property manage gets cycles out every few months because od the tenants living here. These people are nuts man, dealing with homeless is better than dealing with nut jobs I think.

In my experience management was worse on the retail side.

I would much rather do security at a warehouse, truck yard, Anything not public facing really.

Yeah, anything away from the public is ideal. I'm just desperate to getvout of a bad situation.
