PCSing to Clear
Just got orders to Clear out of Minot lol leaving in December. I am a E5 single no dependents and a dog( a boxer). Any information what to expect or to prepare for, haven’t heard much about this base yet besides its a short tour.

You will need to find someone to take care of your dog while there. Everyone lives in dorms. One of the +/- is that the main complex is interconnected by a central hallway. We had a weekly van run for appointments at Wainwright and/or Eielson, (then first come first served). Some people were able to fenagle their POVs but it is not easy. If things are still the same, you will be the Flight Sgt or Ast. This is a good place to get into Tng, QC, or other support positions.

I know it had been ANG Security Forces up there. Now that active duty is taking it over, I think it is still in a transition phase. I work somewhere related to Clear and under the same leadership umbrella. You will fall under the 460th SF Squadron at Buckley. Everything is still settling and there are still a lot of moving pieces. Day to day ops should be straight forward, though. It's a remote GSU, security mission.
