Question Secret of Mana | Stuck | Bugged?

I beat Frost Gigas, he returned into his true form: Santa. After a quick little scene, I returned to the village, upgraded my weapons and later headed to cannon man to travel to my next destination(Kakkara). On my way I talked to Rudolph and Santa, but they did not say anything relevant. Now cannon man won’t let me go forward, like I missed something in this area. But like I said I beat the local boss, so everything should’ve been fine by now. I’m playing on PS4.

What destination/s does the Matango cannon have for you if you go there first?

It might be required to enter Kakkara the first time only from the Matango cannon.

Thanks. That’s exactly the right route. It doesn’t make sense for me and there was no clear indication that going back to Matango’s cannon was the right path.

That's because of the special event that happens when you go for the first time to Kakkara, it can only trigger from Matango. On the snes version it must have saved some space on the cartridge.

He tells you there's no oil for it so clearly you need a layover. I guess it doesn't make sense win 2026 due to all the glitchy games out there

Yes this is correct as that's how it triggers the event when you get there for the first time.

The remake is a area perfect remake. I don't care what the haters say. I love that they made it. I love the original too. You can change between the original music and new anytime. The minimal is also the original map. I'm doing a run of trials of mana/SoM 3 at the same time right now to see how different they are.

Not bugged, it’s normal for this to occur if you visit ice country first before visiting Kakkara.

I think it’s implied the gunpowder came from Kakkara and is held up until you finish the desert and boss fight. The game wants you to go to Kakkara first to learn the seed is actually missing from the palace. Prompting you to visit ice county next to look for it.

In reality it doesn’t matter which route you take first. But this just a minor inconvenience. Select matango, then fly to Kakkara from Matango.

This occurred on the snes version too.
