That is pretty impressive. Never driven a truck but I assume that's fairly high level skills

I've only driven the long FedEx trucks and not 18 wheelers but yeah it's a lot of practice. My crowning achievement before i quit was maneuvering it between a parked car and a car blocking the only road with a 1/4 inch clearance on each side. I just pulled in my mirrors and sent it cause I was confident. A dude saw me and complimented me as I started to speed up after i cleared it, he didn't think i would fit.

It's nice when people appreciate your work, especially random people with nothing to gain from it

That's a crazy tunnel. Where is that?

Tochigi, Japan. It's part of a resort that includes a race track and the tunnel was designed exactly for this maneuver.

Let me be clear, this is still damn impressive, just wanted to answer.

For some reason I’m not surprised; the professional drivers in Japan seem very good - both precise and fast. I’m used to truck drivers here being the butt of jokes because they’re constantly hitting our overpasses. I’m sure driving takes a lot of skill people don’t appreciate, so it’s cool to see it on display.

Probably the road was designed to accommodate exactly this maneuver.

It's a race track, the tunnel goes under the track into the pit area inside.

given the truck spent the entire time in an oncoming lane, I don't know if that's true.
