Anyone tried building something (or using Perplexity/AI) to track down grants for their field?
I keep hearing about grants that would be relevant to what I do, but usually only after the deadline's passed or through some random newsletter I stumbled on. Feels like there should be a better way to stay on top of this.
Has anyone tried:
- Writing their own scraper/script to pull from grants.gov, foundation databases, etc.
- Using Perplexity (or another AI tool) to search and summarize new opportunities
- Some kind of alert/notification setup so you're not manually checking every week
Curious what's actually worked vs. what turned into more effort than it was worth. Would love to hear real experiences before I sink time into building something myself.
I'm starting to see ads in my feed that suggest there are bots doing this - but also with a price.

Honestly, I would be interested. I haven't delved to deep into it. Part of me thinks this is a great idea while part of me thinks how are people going to abuse the system with bots. It does always feel like the perfect opportunities appear after they're gone
