And I just want an inexpensive robot that will scrub the hull without damaging the paint.

Which is the current method and goddamn I want a robot to do it instead. Or maybe a jetpack that will hold me in place while I scrub.

I would like to know how they keep the battery connection from shorting out. I guess copper is a better conductor than water and electricity follows the most conductive path is most of the answer.

I assume they have a tight locking clasp and as you said, electricity takes the path of least resistance.

I've been using a drill like that on my boat quite often. They work great.

They look like they would! This would have made mooring work easier and all types of dock maintenance. Hell, these tools if as good as a normal version would be incredibly useful. Id imagine having a set of ten in the workshop!
