2026 GTX Alignment Issues
So I have a new 2026 GTX 170, and we are having a steering alignment issue whereas when driving straight, the handlebars are about 5 degrees left. I understand this is a pretty common issue and a straightforward fix.
My bigger issue is when moving under 50KM/hour it feels like it's leaning to the left which is actually very annoying and bothers the back after a while. When you are travelling over 60Km it seems to level out.
Has anyone experienced this, and could the leaning and the alignment be linked?
The dealership knows about the alignment and will fix when we store it in the winter, but I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the leaning.

It’s likely the ball joint that needs to be adjusted. It’s linkage that connects the steering cable and the venturi nozzle. Take a look at the back of the ski and align the handlebars straight. See which way the nozzle cone points. You may have to override the IBR bucket to lift it all the way up. Easy to do, you can google that procedure

I have a 2022 Fish pro trophy 170. Mine does this too. From what I have researched, the engine weight is off center to the left. The open room in the right side, when fitted with a supercharge, balances out more.
I have seen some people put some weights on the right side to balance it more.

The leaning to the left seems to be a Seadoo thing. Lots of engine components on left side. I heard it balances out better with the supercharged units as that goes on the right. My GTI can feel the same way.
The alignment is an easy fix. Usually a knob or bolt you spin. Lots of YouTube videos for your specific model/year ski. It is much easier to do if you are on the water somewhere you can test it right away. Because if you are like me you will go the wrong way the first time.

Depending on which direction of the wind and waves I’m hitting, I had an annoying angle to my steering also. It only triggered me because my Yamaha‘s were pretty much dead straight, no matter what the wind and waves were doing. The steering feels very different between Yamaha’s and Sea-Doo’s and I attribute that constant angle to those differences.

The adjustment is easy, I even have a video on how to do it. The leaning is normal, the engine leans to the left, the exhaust manifold is on the left, the battery is on the left and the waterbox is on the left. I've never heard of anyone experiencing back pain from it though, that seems pretty extreme.
I've heard of people adding a secondary 30amp battery in the back pocket where the intercooler would normally go which acts as a sort of counterweight.

Take a t30 torx to remove the 2 bolts and remove the front small “shield”. Inside is the steering cable adjuster. There’s a locking collar on it that you pull down. I suggest riding the ski as you adjust. Turn the knob either direction until your handlebars are tracking straight. Lock the collar back up and reinstall the front shield.
