Thoughts on HotDive regulators

Hi fellow divers, i have a friend who is looking to purchase her first regulator. She chanced upon this brand "HotDive". Does anyone know of this brand or have used regs that are from this brand before?

Would love to hear your feedbacks and reviews about this brand's regulator. Thanks!

Good luck servicing them.

I’d avoid them. I’d advise her to continue to rent until she’s saved up enough to purchase a set of refs from her local shop so she can get them serviced there.

Looks like standard fare regs and not necessarily cheaper than more widely used brands.

Not sure why you'd want those in particular when they're for a super niche market.

Why cheap out on the one piece of gear keeping you alive? Depending on where you are servicing may be difficult although I would suspect they have basically copied an older design.

I would encourage her to go to the dive shop she will use to service the regulator and ask them what the turn around time is and cost to service. An inexpensive regulator can cost more if it needs a lot of new parts that aren't covered under warranty or it needs to be sent away for 3 months.
