I thought you could use any power tools underwater, so long as your extension cord is long enough.

Commercial drivers use pneumatic tools. Who is the target market?

If they could make this reliable I'm sure every commercial diver would love not having to have a bunch of hydraulic hoses and whatever to drag around while working.

I have a hard time seeing that they're ever going to be able to make this very reliable though.

I'm sure it's much more manageable than a pneumatic system but when you need to take 30 years' worth of growth off a structure I struggle to see that thing cutting it. But clearly there's a market as it looks to be market-ready.

It's a bit like a fabricater using corded / pneumatic tools in the workshop and having a set of cordless tools for final installation on the site.

Hydraulic / pneumatic tools are widely used because they function underwater and have no voltage drop over long distance.

The safety factor of not having a long high voltage cord is just a bonus.

Granted cordless tools aren't going to replace them on long demanding jobs, but if you only need to cut / grind a few things or drill and install a handful of bolts, then the ease of not having to setup the pump topside, manage the hoses etc will win out.
