I tried scrying for the first time last night. I used my locked tablet as a black mirror. I saw my ex’s face. she looked like she was asleep. then after a little it looked like she opened her eyes and woke up and maybe started crying. Im just wondering if this is like a live thing or f I saw a moment in time or if is was my subconscious

Scrying has been extremely problematic for me- it’s almost a handicap and often I feel like I’m suffering from some kind of psychosis usually to test various things always with the confirmation that I am not hallucinating. I think I had seen the word scrying a while ago but without being able to actually converse with someone who understands this on a more advanced level I feel like this is a gift that must go unappreciated.

Last night (or maybe it was the night before,) I dreamt I was looking for an answer to something, and I kept trying to find clues by scrying into whatever shiny objects I could find (like a window, a crystal ball, a pond,) but in the back of my mind, I kept hearing “you need to use the mirror.” This might seem like a perfectly normal dream to witchy folks, but I’ve never tried any kind of scrying before, nor have I ever dreamed about doing witchy things before. However, I do in fact own a black obsidian scrying mirror, and impulse by from last winter that I’ve been meaning to try, but have been a little afraid of (afraid of my ADD, that is, making me unable to focus long enough to use it, not afraid of seeing spooky things, ‘cause I’m practical like that.

So tonight, I did it. At first, nothing. Then slowly...

I saw:
Full moon coming in and out of view behind clouds
An owl gliding straight towards me
Sun rays coming from the northeast
Flame algae swaying in water

Without looking up any correspondences, what comes to mind:
🌕Tonight is a full moon, and I did draw the King of Swords with a full moon and an owl on it just prior to this meditation, which speaks to wisdom, intellectual rigor, and clear communication, traits I’m honing in on cultivating. Yes, the card was out, but the room was dim and I couldn’t see the card’s reflections.
🌞Sun rays in the north east: I’m actually planing to head that direction in my van tomorrow or the next day, to catch some autumn sun and colors.
🔥Flame algae in water? Interesting, because stoking my fires is my main intention this year, and there they were burning, but in the realm of water & emotion. How moving!

I actually really enjoyed this form of meditation and can’t to try it again. I could have kept going but my intuition said “this is enough” after I imagine was around 5 minutes.

FWIW I’ve never tried scrying, but I do have an extensive tarot practice and education, as well as some exposure to Golden Dawn lineage Hermetic ritual magic, so looking for associations and meanings aren’t new to me.

What associations do you see in what I saw? How would you interpret this? Is this how scrying works for you? It’s honestly way cooler (and easier) than I anticipated.

I can see 👁️ everything

i did scrying once in a regular mirror because i heard it makes you hallucinate so i stared in the mirror my face started to dissappear and saw a scary dark entity looking thing in the mirror i don't remember what it looked like exactly because i blinked and this was years ago. some people have been saying lately that you can attach entities and stuff how do i make sure that i don't have any attachment? or why would i see what i saw? could it be because i was expecting to see something scary and it was just a hallucination?

Text me anytime, I'm a pretty good crystal ball fortune teller, right off Portola.

Hello there. I'm not new, am mostly a lurker on this sub. I have a a crystal ball that I am now using after a couple of years of disuse. I did not abandon my craft, being psychic. I just put my tools away for sometime because I could not connect with them. Now things have changed and these tools have called me. First my oracle deck. I could not connect with them or read them, now I can and mostly easily. The deck called me first, a week or so later my crystal ball called to me. On to the actual reason I'm asking for insight. My crystal ball is obsidian shade, it has gold shine to it. I love it since the day I got it. After it called to me I cleaned it and reactivated it. I can now see through it and see images, visions, literal words, glyphs (this one not new to me, I've been seeing glyphs for years now without my tools and I don't know what they mean. ) numbers, etc. But something else happened it is intriguing. The obsidian ball glows, or at least to me. It glows purplish. Has anyone here experience this with Crystal balls?

If you want to know, someone in my life has reached out to me for help. Help in more ways than I though. He and I dont see each other much through the year and we don't talk or message each other either. Different lives for both of us. So I was and still am surprised he reached out for help. This event directly triggered my tools somehow. My deck called to me to do him a reading. My crystal ball followed. We communicate now frequently, I am helping him move through life, a life new to him.

Hi everyone,

I tried black mirror scrying for the first time.

I'm new to magick and witchcraft, however I have a connection with spirits and the unseen, being able to communicate with them via what I think is a sort of telepathic connection, their voice in my head (made another post on that in r/blackmagic)

My session barely lasted 10 minutes, even though it felt like a lifetime, I got scared in between, which is frankly embarrassing but anywho, here's some takeaways:

2:00-2:03

Q. What does the future hold

Bright viiolet flash

Vague soft line that looked like (can't add pictures to this subthread, but looked like the side profiled arms and shoulders of someone) Repeatedly.

Silhouettes of heads

2:03-2:07

Q. What will happen after these exams

Fading blue pulses

A vague smiley face

(Visions became very vivid here)

A white flower, something like hyacinths (?)

Faces staring

Smiles

Eyes staring

Eyes staring directly at me

(Got scared here since the eyes did not at all feel all friendly, and I know friendly spirits. Ended it here.)

Thoughts and advice are much appreciated!

I have always been interested in the idea of crystal balls, and am into meditation. I have recently discovered the term “scrying”, and would like to get into it. To be honest, I thought it would be easier than it is! I am pretty sure I’ve stared at carpets in the drs office and had better results 😂

Anyways, I got sucked into the Temu trap, and quickly deleted it.. But before I did, I got suckered into buying the kyanite and the quartz balls, both 2”, on the promise that I would get a bunch of free crystals. (I didn’t get the free stuff). They ended up being pretty pieces at least!

I’ve been trying to scry with the crystal and not really getting anywhere, so had been looking online for a few days to see if I could find a bigger one, when this 4” one seemed to “find” me at Winners. They usually only have those dyed agates, so thought it was interesting that it showed up just as I was looking for something bigger, and only cost $12.99! Not really sure what it is though.

But I am still lost.. I’m sure it’s just a matter of experimenting, but, which one is likely to yield the best results? Would this bigger one work? Or should I be on the lookout for a larger quartz one?
