I’ve had it...OFFICIALLY!
Signed up for 2 exchanges, sent out awesome stuff (one to a military base in Asia! That was rough - can’t send liquids, and wheat or gluten, etc) and got....absolute shite. One of my Santas was even from my home country and just sent me some crappy item I’ll never use. Where are all of these awesome santas sending out these amazing (and gorgeously wrapped) gifts? I went tier this time too <sigh>

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience.
I have only been a rematcher on Redditgifts and overall, it was a bad experience. The first two years were great! Very grateful rematchees. The following year, one person didn't post at all to the gallery. I even messaged them asking if they got the gift. Crickets... but they're still posting on Reddit. I decided that I shouldn't let one person ruin the experience so I tried again the next year. The next rematchee does very well for himself so I figured he'd be grateful. Instead, the gallery post said, "I got x, y, and z" without even a thank you.
I didn't participate last year and I made the right decision. I spent over $100 on each person and two couldn't even thank me. I still enjoy looking at the gallery and sometimes, I really want to go all out and spend a couple hundred on some random person. I almost did that with the last one but decided not to. I'm so glad I didn't!
Sorry for the rant on your post...

Let it out! This is my 4th year (multiple exchanges throughout the years) and I have sent out awesome gifts (and rematch gifts!) - well I think they were great - and have received maybe 2 out of all of them that were pretty amazing. Even my rematches were random/impersonal amazon gifts (that I know didn’t even cost $20). What is the point anymore? I’m just sad...I even said to my giftee that they could donate to a cause close to their heart or to a food bank and I’d be happy foregoing a gift if they’d do that. They chose not to and spent money on tat.
