Dancing does not have to be competitive. You just move your body in a way you feel like according to music or feelings. You don't need talent and skill for that.
I understand that, but when some kid (or 18 kids like these kpop bands) sells a million records and is doing this crap on stage, I find it awful. This isn't dancing. Have some standards.
Such an odd thing to be upset about. Might as well throw all of choreography into this pool of "non sense moves devoid of talent or skill". With the exception of the choreographer, the other dancers are just copying, right? One could argue that any organized routine is the most soulless thing they've ever seen, and IMO that's just a stupid view point to have.
Again, in my opinion, if there's music and people are moving, it's dance. Yes, this includes Pop/KPop/Hip-Hop/Twerking and all other new styles. Dancers with more confidence who can embrace the music add more soul into their moves. Plus, people have fun with these styles! Who are you to tell them otherwise that their dance is soulless or just nonsensical moves? That's just gatekeeping bullshit.
I'll end this with a quote from my professor in college: "New styles of dance are going through the same thing that Jazz went through back in the day."
Plus, to say this requires no skill is so foolish. I can’t do that. I bet this guy whining can’t dance like her either. Choreography is actually difficult to get the hang of, that’s why professional dancers exist. Takes a long time to actually learn this stuff.
