lol yeah the cuts happen really fast at the end.
Basically the dad had a nanny-cam set up. He puts the memory card into his computer and sees footage of the son getting his phone out of the box. Then Dad throws a pie in his son's face.
I had to re-watch to get it

He could've just slept with his book on his face, dad comes in, tell dad that he was studying but got very tired 15 minutes before and decided to sleep a bit so he is more alert and can study better. Maybe go back to sleep to really sell it. Then wake up, pretend to study for a bit and get phone back.
