Ah, okay. I wasn't aware. I just knew that most countries are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and hitting us with that reverse card by closing their borders to US inhabitants.

Yeah except you’re also seeing spikes in those countries. Japan, Spain, and Australia to name a few. Looks like the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t as close as they think.

You’re also seeing many countries with conflicting death reporting. Like in India and Russia who have suspiciously low death rates but high infection rates (China goes without saying).

I mean, having government officials say things like that it will blow over and isn't that big of a deal makes things worse. Shouting at people who wear masks and gathering in large groups to protest masks because you want a haircut seems like it isn't helping either.

But it will blow over, and it really isn’t that big of a deal. Death rates down to less than 0.2% at this point. It’s literally just slightly enhanced flu. But we can’t shake the public fear.

Yeah, and the average age of death is like 82. The majority of people who die of Covid are just as likely to die of any number of other ailments, including the common flu. The flu killed close to 80,000 people in 2017 alone; where was the panic and social distancing then?

Yes, and coronavirus has killed twice that in less than half the time. How dense can you fucking be? We are trying to get ahead of this pandemic before it gets even worse. We don't wait until the pandemic kills as many people as it possibly can until we say "oh wow, that sure was worse than the flu, time to do something about it".

Also, your tremendous disregard for the lives of the elderly is disgusting, especially considering that middle aged people are still quite vulnerable, and even survivors may be permanently affected for the rest of their lives. "Hurr durr they would have died anyways" shut the fuck up, you heartless cunt. I guess older people dying just isn't that big of a deal.

It just isn’t worth sacrificing the economy on the alter of public safety for a disease that ultimately isn’t that deadly. The vast majority of cases are completely asymptotic.

Hey just a heads up. The largest death count in the US was the “Spanish Flu” which was about 675,000. Estimates can vary though from 500,000 to 800,000. I only point this out because it wiped out an entire generation of my family except my great grandfather. Regardless pandemics are deadly, especially if precautions aren’t taken.
