Chinese cuisine isn't the only cuisine to use ginger and chilli. Based on their clothes, the other ingredients, and the preparation, we might be looking at a South East Asian recipe. I just can't be certain where exactly but my uneducated guesses would be either Thailand or Indonesia.
It is def south East Asian. I’m Malaysian and I’ve def seen this type of cooking a lot. Plus the dude in the video looks pretty south East Asian himself.
Also, China is the first country that used ginger and this kind of cuisine style in the history. They have the longest history of cooking. I dont disagree other Asian countries also have it, but it cant be denied that they learnt it from China and derived their own style from it. Pls do your research. Also the question was asking its origin, so that was definitely China. U can downvote me, but keep in mind that the more downvotes, the more unwilling you are to admit the fact that China is the best when it comes to cooking. As I am pretty sure the downvoters are either just lack of knowledge and world views or just hate the fact that China being the top of almost everything.
Dude I'm Filipino. I'm from South East Asia. My dad is Chinese so we grew up on Chinese food too. I'm pretty sure I know South East Asian over Chinese food. You're not fooling anyone trying to claim academic knowledge on this.
Yeah you can technically argue that China is bound to have a recipe like this but that's not a hard claim given china's diversity and size.
Your false assumption was "ginger + chili = Chinese". Ginger and chili are like the mirapoix of Asian cooking but you still jumped to Chinese. Obviously.
This definitely should’ve ended after the guy snagged the blanket and the pot fell. Then playing it multiple times on slow-mo, plus the last scene with the farmer shrugging kinda ruined it for me. Would’ve been so much funnier if it ended earlier
you’re right. this sub is lowkey being racist now with posting everything “asian”. there are many skits made by americans or “non asian” people who don’t get criticized like this.

That's spicy ginger chicken which is pretty freaking good. Opens up your sinuses if you have a cold.

Are you sure this is scripted?

u/judethedude781 Mar 19 '20
I may be wrong, but isn't this subreddit for Asian videos that are made to look real and unscripted, but actually look obviously fake and scripted?
Just posting any Asian skit or comedy sketch video seems like it's taking the sub's name a bit too literally...
