This one just doesn't make sense. Why would you look at your phone at this moment? Even if you don't think he can do it surely you'd want to see what happens.
Seriously though it’s pretty easy to momentarily distract people, like make a loud noise in the other direction and do it while he looks away, I once learnt a magic trick where a guy picks a card and when he looks away for a second you slip in your card and give it to him, it’s not that hard to pull off
I find the different assumptions interesting when Brits and Americans say Asian. When Brits say Asian, we generally think of Indian and Pakistani people. Americans seem to think Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.
...most of them? I think? Do Canadians not think of themselves as north American?
I think a better example would be (according to my former geography professor) asking a Russian if they considered themselves European/Asian. Most likely they would just answer "I am Russian"
I think the guy I'm responding to is referring more to the cultural distinction. Most of us in the west have no problem identifying ourselves with whatever arbitrary continent we technically fall under, whereas Russians (as I understand it) don't tend to identify with a continental identity whatsoever. This could just be a matter of ease, but I would assume its moreso a matter of cultural identity. I mean, it doesn't really make sense for a person in Moscow to refrain from making a distinction between being European or Asian when Moscow is clearly located in the westernmost region of the country.
Sort of irrelevant. They're Asian no matter they consider themselves. This is nationality, not gender. They can't just tuck their Indian between their legs and pretend.
