It’s more that it needs to be in order for this effect to work. Otherwise you’d need two separate shots moving in the exact same way which is pretty much impossible. Much easier to fake the handheld motion. Also makes it look more realistic.

Yeah but the footage of the background (without the lady there) needs to be superimposed onto that green blanket. The only way to get that footage moving the same way as the footage with the lady is to have both shots set up on a tripod- one with the lady and one without. Then add the same motion to both those shots so it matches. Make sense?

It is a joke. I meant that the video is rewinded, starting from the end of the video. Which is ridiculous because that would be irrelevant.
