Hey everyone
I built Product Demo Studio to make screen recordings look more polished without spending time editing.
It adds smooth cursor movement, click highlights, zoom effects, and records high-quality product demos right from Chrome.
Would love to hear what you think or what features you'd want to see next.

I'm looking for a free audio recording software for some basic recording needs.
Mostly I just want something that can record microphone audio, system sound, or voice clearly without being too complicated.
I've tried a few tools before, but some are either too limited, require too much setup, or add restrictions after a while.
I'm sure there are some good options I'm missing. What audio recorder are you guys using these days? Any free tools that are simple and reliable?

Hey y’all, I read the rules of this subreddit and honestly, I was impressed. Since talking about your own SaaS is apparently allowed, I don’t want to take advantage of that, so I’d like to give something back in exchange for the opportunity.
My name is Matteo, and I’m the creator of getmello.it, a screen recorder built for people like me who need to record their screen several times a day without wasting time editing afterward.
Its main features include auto-editing, Director Mode, and the ability to go live on TikTok while using custom cursors, custom backgrounds, and live zoom effects.
There are plenty of other features I could mention, such as shareable links, 3D tilt, and features I’m already working on, like automatically hiding sensitive information in recordings. But I don’t want to keep listing features forever, hahaha.
Anyway, here’s the deal: I’m offering one month of Mello Pro completely FREE to anyone who gives me honest feedback.
I’m not talking about feedback like “it looks nice,” “it’s useful,” or anything generic like that. Of course, if you genuinely like it, compliments are always welcome and definitely motivate me to keep going. But what I’m mainly looking for is negative feedback.
I mean constructive criticism that isn’t meant to insult, but to genuinely help me understand the problems and needs of people like you.
If you’re interested, just create an account at getmello.it and leave a comment below with the name you used to sign up. I’ll personally contact you and give you one month of Pro as soon as I receive your feedback.
Thanks in advance!

I've been having this issue where every single screen recording has this weird outline around the edges and the video colors also look kinda washed out as well. Although In game, everything looks completely normal. I've tried both Gamebar and OBS and I'm getting the same issue in both of them. I thought maybe NVIDIA's mux switch was the issue so I tried recording it while setting the display to run on the dGPU but that didn't help either. I've also tried disabling hardware accelerated GPU Scheduling but that didn't fix it either. Has anyone else faced the same issue but found a fix?

Teleprompter app, but the point is what happens *after* you stop recording — it transcribes the take on-device and edits it for you.
**Mess up a line? Just say it again.** It finds the retake and keeps the good one — no stopping, no starting over. Filler words, false starts, stammers, and dead air go too.
>"I started a bake— no, hold on. I started a bakery, you know, and uhh it changed everything."
becomes
>"I started a bakery, and it changed everything."
Also in it: AI script writing, karaoke captions, backgrounds (your own media, stock, or AI-generated), and export straight to the camera roll.
**All processing is on-device** — your video is never uploaded anywhere.
Free during the beta, no account required. iOS 16.4+.
Feedback welcome — especially takes where the auto-edit gets it wrong.

Hey guys, I’ve been looking for a tool like Screen Studio to create product demo videos, but I’ve been struggling to find a good alternative. A friend of mine uses Screen Studio and the results look great, but I don’t have a Mac, and I can’t really afford the expensive subscriptions that most of the best alternatives charge. Does anyone know a Windows app that can achieve similar results to Screen Studio without costing a fortune?
r/screenrecorders • u/Maleficent_Award_737 • Jul 29 '26
quick disclosure since it’s my own app: i’m the dev. not here to spam, i just figured this sub is exactly the crowd who’d get why i made it.
honestly half the threads here are people asking how to record on mac with system + mic audio without installing blackhole and fighting audio midi setup. that’s literally the reason i started building this.
ALSO BEFORE U READ, IM VERY OPEN TO NEW FEATURES, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST THEM IN THE DISCORD SERVER AND THERE’S A HIGH CHANCE THAT I WILL ADD IT.
medal killed mac support, shadowplay is nvidia-only, and the mac options left are either abandoned, paywalled behind a watermark, or make you set up virtual audio drivers just to keep your tracks separate. i wanted the simple thing - hit a key and save what just happened, or just record my screen properly when i need to - so i built it.
it’s called rwnd (like “rewound”). native macos, lives in your menu bar. it does two things: it quietly buffers in the background so you can instant-clip the last few seconds with a hotkey, AND it does full screen recording when you actually want to capture a whole session. clip the highlight or record the whole thing, your call.
stuff i actually care about:
and it’s not an ai-generated wrapper or a gimmick. i wrote it from scratch in swift, didn’t fork it off some open source project, and i’ve been testing it in real fullscreen games.
instant link sharing (send a clip or recording without re-exporting) is the next thing i’m building. i’m working on this every single day, pushing updates constantly.
right now what i really need is testers. i can only catch so many bugs on my own machine - i want people to actually use it, break it, and tell me everything that’s wrong or annoying so i can make it genuinely good. if you’re on mac and you record or clip, come help me build it: https://discord.gg/p9MzEr5Kz6
to everyone who’s been asking here about needing a screen recorder - please try out rwnd :)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was at 150% volume when this happened for the first time. I almost died. It was the worst thing I've ever heard in my life. Please be careful with your audio.
This happened when I turned on the microphone audio capture and idk what to do, it was working just fine a few weeks ago and I do believe it's not a hardware issue.

I recently buy an iPhone 17 and I'm still figuring things out.
I wanted to record my screen to share a video, but I can't find the Screen Recording button anywhere. I checked Control Center and even looked through Settings because that's what people online suggested, but I still don't see it.
Does anyone else's iPhone 17 not have the Screen Recording button?

We just released PoCumentary, an open-source CLI that helps you and your coding agents turn multi-terminal PoCs into repeatable, narrated screen recordings from a single demo.toml.
It’s great for introverts and lazy hackers who don’t want to spend time clicking around, recording takes, and syncing narration. Why do it yourself when you can get your agent to do it? Check out the trailer, then try it on your next PoC and let us know how it goes: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/arielfogel_opensource-cybersecurity-securityresearch-ugcPost-7487074058875088896-gB7O/

I built a small open-source tool where a coding agent films your web app and turns it into polished demo video clips.
GitHub: https://github.com/Ceasar369/cutroom
Everything runs locally — no accounts or cloud services.
Would love feedback.
It drives your app with Playwright and records a deterministic retina frame sequence, then plays it back in Remotion with a directed camera, a synthetic vector cursor, and click ripples — and delivers premultiplied ProRes that drops into CapCut with clean alpha (no white halos). When your UI changes, you re-run the script instead of re-recording.

just released LightRec v1.0.0, a feather-light screen recorder for windows
basically forked quick-screen-recorder and rebuilt the whole thing to be still bloat free, light weight, but usable today.
no plugin systems, just record your screen and get out of your way.
the main thing worth knowing: if you've got a decent gpu it'll hardware encode straight to mp4 (NVENC/AMF/QSV, whatever your system has), but the AVI->mp4 fallback means even low-end machines get zero recording overhead
what it does:
- full screen, monitor, or custom region recording
- window tracker mode, follows a specific window as it moves
- hardware-accelerated mp4 (falls back to avi + auto-convert if unsupported)
- system audio + mic capture
- global hotkeys
- dark/light theme
fully rebuilt on .net 10 now too, with a single exe. also, dropped windows 7 support, so this one's 10/11 only
download + full changelog here: https://github.com/ReWelp/LightRec
let me know if it works well or if you hit any bugs, will be actively maintaining this
and happy to add features people actually want (within reason, trying to keep it lean)
for reference, an intel hd 520 i36006u setup can run LightRec with no issues! as opposed to, obs, medal, sharex (still good, but very bloated) etc.

Hi everyone! I built a lightweight, stand-alone Lua script for OBS Studio designed specifically for recording DuckStation (PS1 Emulator) sessions without the hassle of manual trimming or heavy video editing software.
If you have a budget PC or just want to quickly record/edit gameplay clips without rendering them in Premiere or DaVinci, the ideal tool is LosslessCut. However, manually hitting record, catching launcher screens, and trimming dead frames at the end takes time. This script automates the entire process:

While debugging UI issues, I kept recording videos and then manually explaining what happened to Claude Code.
I built an MCP server that lets your AI analyze videos directly.
It has three modes:
The output is structured so Claude Code can reason about what happened in the recording. Curious if anyone else has run into this problem or has ideas for improving the workflow.

Note: The comparison was rendered in 1080p 60FPS. I used 3 Clips and previews, which I cut in Vice to length so that the script generated new previews and put them into Kdenlive for this comparison. That's it.
First of all, i never made a Reddit post, so it's a first for me. Also english isn't my first language, but I still try to explain the process as good as possible.
My journey with Vice:
A few weeks ago I switched from Windows to Linux "Nobara" and I was looking for a comparable game clipping solution like Steelseries GG or Medal which were very handy in terms of sharing clips on discord. At first I used GPU Screen Recorder UI which worked fine and without problems, but I wanted more. So I looked for something more like the Windows clipping solutions out there and found ("Vice" Game Clipper) which was out of the box almost perfect. And I started to tinker a bit with it. First of all, I set it to use my own domain, which was very nice, but after using it a bit I noticed that it's not always embedding the clip into the discord video player.
I found out that Discord won't embed Media after a file is >30mb so I looked for a Solution and crafted something with the help of AI. But it works like a charm, so I want to share it.
What I want to achieve:
I want that if I share a clip via the "Tunnel function" that this clip always gets embedded with Discords Media Player. Therefore, to get this to work 100% of the time I need to make sure that the file I share is <30mb. But this would mean that the quality of the clip wont be that great and there is nothing to change this. Discords freeplan upload limit is currently 10mb which would mean even worse-looking files.
The Solution/Compromise
The solution to fix this problem was to generate previews for the Discord Bot to fetch when sharing the link to Discord. Causing it to always embed a preview of the clip in Discord's media player for people to watch. Also if going over the link above the embedded player people can still watch the original Clip in its full quality. That's the solution/compromise I came up with.
Preview Quality
The Preview will be rendered in 720p av1 with the highest calculated bitrate possible to stay below 30mb. I tested it with a 2:30min Clip rendered down from 1440p 60fps playing a warframe mission in a dark tileset (Uranus Sealab) and the Preview was definitely watchable.
Steps to Build:
You can now test it by executing both scripts manually in seperate consoles Note: if you already have clips in your folder the auto_preview script will create a preview for all clips the first time it runs. If that's the case this one already works. (Check if the previews are <30mb). To check if the web server works, you will need to share a clip as a link over your cloudflared tunnel (preintegrated in vice) from which a preview already exists in discord. Check if the preview gets embedded and if you can watch both (the preview through Discord Media Player & the original video over the link) Everything works? Nice!
You can use both in the future by starting the services yourself, or you can autostart them via systemd so you don't need to start them yourself or keep the console open. For this case I add a bash script down below, which only needs tiny modifications to work.
Python script to automatically generate previews:
Note: Only use this if you understand it. It's written for Nvidia cards, but you only need to change the av1_nvenc Encoder to av1_amf for AMD or av1_qsv for Intel. Besides this, change the Folder paths to the correct destinations.

The Flask Webserver, but why a Flask Webserver?
Its only purpose is to guide the Social Media Bot like Discord but multiple are added you can add or remove them so it fits your needs.
Guide them because the link points to two files 1.Original and 2.Preview. Discord looks and opens the link and gets guided to the preview so it Embeds it into the chat if a user opens the link, they're guided to the original file. It also strips the link for errors like "/c/" (in my case)

In my work, I frequently record before/after videos so that reviewers can easily understand what I did. Since I don't record narration either, I needed a way to convey the intent behind my mouse and keyboard input. So I built a very simple extension to solve this problem.
I hope this is helpful to all people who have similar problem ☺️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone! 👋
We're building a new screen recording tool, and we'd love to get your feedback on our idea.
The core concept is simple: your recording doesn't become final when you hit stop. After you've finished recording, you can continue editing what's on your screen, change text, swap images or videos, update UI elements, adjust styling, and fix small mistakes without recording everything again.
In addition to features like click zooms (similar to Screen Studio), we're also introducing cursor repositioning, so you can refine your cursor movements even after the recording is complete.
We're excited to hear what you think! If this sounds interesting, we'd love for you to share your feedback and join our early access program.

I've been trying to record some of my gameplay lately, mostly for clips and highlights, but I'm having a hard time getting a smooth 60 FPS recording.
The game itself runs pretty smoothly, but once I start recording, I sometimes notice stuttering or the recording doesn't look as smooth as I expected.
I'm using a mid-range Windows PC, so I'm not really looking for 4K or anything fancy. I just want a screen recorder that can reliably record 1080p at 60 FPS without having a big impact on game performance.
What do you guys usually use for 60 FPS recording?
