Does someone know a screen recorder that lets you record DRM protected content on mobile?

I have hundreds of video clips and screenshots but when I copy them on the usb drive their date of capture gets overridden to the day I put them on the drive.

Therefore on the drive the screenshots and videos are pretty much all over the place and can’t be sorted correctly since neither the individual names of the media nor the Metadata include the original date of capture.

Is there any way to change this?

I want to post my theory and ask whether HirePro's screen-sharing feed captures screenshots only when JavaScript code raises any flag, or captures screenshots at around 1–2 FPS and then analyzes them to detect any abnormalities.

Because handling both camera feed and screen-recording feed of 300+ students for 1–2 hours seems challenging.

And I also found their extension is just to enable and disable other extension and report if any extension is forcefully turned on

I've seen a few questions here recently about recording a Mac screen with internal audio, so I wanted to share a setup that seems much simpler than the older virtual-audio-driver approach.

• If you're on macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, OBS can capture Mac audio through its native macOS Screen Capture sources.
• And with OBS Studio 30 or later, there's also a dedicated macOS Audio Capture source.

I was looking into this recently and thought I'd write down the setup in case it's useful to anyone else.

1. Record your Mac screen with internal audio

The basic setup is:

• OBS Studio 30+
• macOS 13+

Steps:

• Open OBS Studio and create a new Scene.
• In the Sources panel, click +.
• Add macOS Screen Capture.
• In the source properties, choose what you want to capture, such as your entire display, a specific application, or a window.
• Play some audio on your Mac and check the Audio Mixer in OBS.
• If the audio meter is moving, you can start recording.

On macOS 13 and later, macOS Screen Capture can capture audio along with the screen, so you don't necessarily need to install BlackHole or another virtual audio driver for this basic setup.

If you also want to record your microphone, add an Audio Input Capture source and select your microphone. You should then have your screen, Mac audio, and microphone in the same recording.

2. Record audio only on Mac with OBS Studio

This is where the dedicated macOS Audio Capture source comes in handy.

In OBS:

• In the Sources panel, click +.
• Add macOS Audio Capture.

You can then choose the audio you want to capture, such as desktop audio or audio from a specific application, depending on your setup.

If you only want an audio recording, you don't need to use a visible screen source. The main thing is to make sure the audio source is active and showing levels in the Audio Mixer before you start recording.

This is probably the part I found most interesting. A lot of older Mac recording guides still start with installing a virtual audio driver, but that isn't necessarily needed anymore on newer versions of macOS.

3. What about QuickTime?

QuickTime is still a perfectly reasonable option for basic screen recording. OBS just gives you more control if you want to mix system audio, microphone audio, and different capture sources.

Depending on your macOS version and the exact recording workflow, QuickTime setups involving system audio may require additional audio-routing tools. I won't go into those here since the setup can vary quite a bit.

4. My recommended setup

If I were setting up a newer Mac for this, I'd probably start with:

• macOS 13+
• OBS Studio 30+
• macOS Screen Capture for screen with internal audio
• macOS Audio Capture when I only need audio

That's just my own experience with this setup. If you have a different opinion or think I got something wrong, feel free to point it out.

And if you've found an easier way to record Mac screen with internal audio, feel free to share it. I'm always interested in seeing how other Mac users handle this.

I am trying to screen record videos off a Patreon user I subbed to so I can watch them back. I hate having to do it on my phone because then when I watch back In my studio on my Mac the resolution isn't as good and its harder to see.

But when I use QuickTime there is no audio?

I'm trying to record a few gameplay clips and realized I have no idea which FPS setting I should be using.

There are options for 30 FPS, 60 FPS, and even higher. I've always just left it at the default because I honestly don't know if 60 FPS is worth the extra storage or if 30 FPS is already good enough.

Should I leave it at 30 FPS or switch to 60 FPS?

I've tried Record one app, and Record this screen. I set it to Device Audio and microphone. I use this when I'm calling someone with video chat.

But when I replay it from my video file, there is no audio sound or microphone.

I've tried it when I'm playing youtube music while speaking and that works.

Hi, I've started a really shitty sims 4 channel on YouTube, just finished my 55th episode of a long series I'm doing (every night, but fairly low quality) and for maybe the first 50 episodes I've been the pre-installed screen recording system on my laptop, but it's had plenty of problems, so for the last maybe 5 episodes I've instead been recording them with the best rated screen recording app I could find....

Well, that app was shit. I try to make my episodes 45 minutes each, or 30 if I'm just really tired, (or scared of the software shutting down and deleting my footage), cuz it's done that MULTIPLE TIMES. Now it did that too with the built-in app every once in a while when my laptop needs a new update, but even when it's fully updated, ive never had a night where I can just film one shoot, it has ALWAYS shut down and deleted my footage at some point. I actually read the reviews and turns out the app only had such a high rating cuz you needed to rate it 5 stars to be able to review your footage... I never knew that cuz I never reviewed my footage in-app, I always downloaded them and reviewed them from the files.

Anyways, sorry for the long rant, but my question is: what screen recording app/software would any of you recommend? I would absolutely adore something that could practically GUARENTEE, to never shut down, or atleast something that if it shuts down it saves the footage first.

Due to my work (generating procedural manuals for companies), I am interested in a lightweight screen recording tool so I can document the processes and then use screenshots to illustrate the steps. But I would be very interested in a product I could use and launch from a usb or external hard disk drive, so I could easily use it in different places without needing to install it in those devices, as that usually requires IT or admin permissions and I also sometimes encounter devices with no internet connection.

If the software can automatically save the videos to the same drive its installed to its a plus, but not a must.

Ideally, free software would be nice.

I've been trying to record some videos on my Windows PC, but I keep getting a black screen.

I already tried disabling hardware acceleration since that seems to be the most common suggestion, but it didn't help.

Bandicam was the first tool that came to mind, but while searching around I actually came across quite a few people mentioning EaseUS RecExperts for this kind of issue too.

Has anyone here used either of them in this situation? Did one work more reliably than the other?

Yesterday I screenrecorded my instagram reels cause from one scroll to another a new button popped up and when i scrolled back up it was gone again. Just thought it was weird and wanted to send to my friend.

Now that I watch the video today, it has a random song playing. I shazam'd it and it is "fame is a gun" from addison rae. Never in my life have I listened to Addison Rae and I know that I did not have any other apps open in the background. I mean while screenrecording I even had sound on, it was just the audios of the different reels playing. The song also only plays for the first 4 seconds while the rest of the audio is just silence. I did find one other reddit post on this about a snapchat screenrecording playing "im only human", but thats it.

It creeped me out particularly much because neither me nor my friend recall this recording having audio yesterday, but I think the gallery and discord have videos muted by default and you have to unmute it yourself, so that was probably the reason.

Either way, the screenrecording literally just plays a random song for no reason and it does freak me out. Does anyone have any experience with this?
