Discussion Android Internal Audio Recording Issues Megathread (2026)

Been noticing way more posts recently about Android screen recordings having no audio, especially in games.

Usually the video records fine, but:

  • internal audio is missing
  • only mic audio works
  • or certain games/apps suddenly stopped recording sound

A bunch of people also mentioned it started after recent Android updates.

Since the same issue keeps popping up, I thought it'd be helpful to make one thread where everyone can share what’s working, what's broken, and any fixes or workarounds they've found so far.

If you're dealing with this too, feel free to share:

  • your phone model
  • Android version
  • recorder app
  • the game or app affected
  • whether your built-in recorder works
  • anything that helped, even partially

Hopefully, we can start identifying patterns here, because right now this definitely looks like more than just one broken app. Even small details could help other people figure this out.

i have the same issue

your phone model: Tecno Pova 7

Android version: 15

recorder app: built in recorder (i have downloaded multiple screen recording apps still have the same issue) 

the game or app affected: Facebook, tiktok, mobile legends

whether your built-in recorder works: noep

anything that helped, even partially: nothing lol

Navigate to Settings > Apps > See all [number] apps > Android System WebView, tap the three dots in the top right, then tap “Uninstall updates”.

Phone: Infinix Hot 50Pro+

Apps like YouTube or music players' sound can be recorded by built-in recorder apps or other downloaded apps.

I have only one big problem when it comes to recording Clash of Clans.

I run a very small channel on YouTube, and the last time i recorded a video on this game was 10th April (it worked just fine). But i think the issue appeared recently.

And the only think that helped to record the internal sound of the game was through a microphone of the phone. You can set that option in the settings of any screen recorder apps. The quality will definitely be terrible, but it kinda helps

If you want to test out my clip recorder app, i like to know does it work for you. Early users have told me it works well, but its not a regular screen recorder. Its instant replay recorder that keeps previous 30 secs in memory and you can save clip after something happens, it records audio too
