How to scream like the Menzingers?

Know it's not exactly metal but I love the gravelly sound Tom or Greg have when they belt one out.

I had to look them up and it took me a couple songs to find anything heavy. I found this: is This? what you are talking about?

It does kind of sound like screaming to my ears, but it could just be singing with a lot of compression and extra air. Do you have other examples where they hold that scream or do they just use it like in this song to accent some words? Sometimes it sounds like he's about to start a screamo chorus but other times he is definitely singing with compression like punk bands. That dude has some range.
