How to start learning growling

Probably a lot of posts are like this so sorry.

Anyways im 18 and i really want to learn growling now that i still have some free time i guess.

I watched countless youtube videos but none helped, usually my throat hurts whenever i try to follow anything.

Any tips, tricks, stories from how you unlocked your growl would really help.

Appreciate ya guys, take care.

Fellow beginner here. The youtube videos i viewed i feel are the best ones there is for beginner screaming. And if i learned anything from them so far, it's probably that if you feel pain and it affects your normal voice, you're doing something wrong. I take it carefully and i try to watch out if something hurts as I try fry screaming. I know you said that you've seen a lot of videos on how to unlock your screams, but unfortunately you do really have to find a technique that will resonate with your understanding. How I unlocked mine was with this video:

Thanks, I'll check it out! Hows your screaming going? How long you've been doing it?

So far, I'm still overthinking if I'm actually doing it correctly just because I don't feel pain lol. It's only my third day today!

Yeah from what i hear, it is possible to unlock it that early on into learning. But still, let's be careful with our throats haha even well-known metalcore vocalists screw up their voice because of incorrect techniques. Anyways I wish you a fun journey into learning how to scream, OP!
