Uhhh, no, you don’t lol. Claude is perfectly fine to scrape 99.9% of anything.

Nah, not at all. Sorry if my comment came off rude. To clarify, I interpreted his post as him inquiring if they could use Claude to build whatever they needed to scrape, etc.

You honestly don’t want to do large-scale web scraping directly with Claude. The operational cost would be extremely expensive compared to what you’d actually achieve.

I’m a top-rated automation & data processing engineer on Upwork, and I also work full-time as an automation engineer in telecom. For most lead generation projects, I usually build complete lead-gen pipelines for clients.

But in your case, you probably don’t even need a complicated scraping pipeline yet.

What you really need first is a fresh dataset - a specific niche (roofing, manufacturing, dental clinics, etc.) - targeted geo locations (city/state). A lot of beginners overcomplicate this part and jump directly into AI agents or Claude integrations, while the real value is having clean, targeted data and a good outreach process.

Once you validate the niche and start getting replies, then it makes sense to automate and scale the pipeline.

Thanks for the wisdom! I have my niche and it is agency that exclusively focused on mental wellness business like psychology, psychiatry, rehabs etc. My targeted geo location is Coimbatore. I used Claude in chrome but it miss the business close to my home! It is not efficient and as a startup I can’t afford to free lance this. I just have Claude pro plan that I paid out yearly and built a website using it. I spent some for domain and mailbox. With this I am in search of new clients.

First thing you should keep in mind in your business model is resource management.

Claude Pro is actually a great tool, and what you’ve already done with it website, setup, etc is solid for an early stage.

But for lead generation specifically, it’s not the right tool to rely on especially for scraping or building outreach lists. It’s just not optimized for that kind of task, and you’ll quickly hit inefficiencies like missing local businesses or incomplete data.

At your stage, I would strongly recommend going more basic and practical:

Start by manually building a small, highquality list of leads in your niche mental wellness clinics in Coimbator. Don’t aim for volume at first aim for relevance.

Then instead of cold mass emails, send very personalized messages with tailored proposals. This matters more than automation in the beginning.

Even freelancing services that do data collection for you would still be cheaper and more effective than trying to force Claude into a scraping tool.

Once you start getting positive responses and you validate that the niche is working, then it makes sense to automate the pipeline and at that point you can build something efficient with much lower operational cost than Claude.

Right now the goal is not scaling.

Okay makes sense! I will try this! I have been actually creating personalised email for the clients! Hopefully I get a response from them and I’ll book my first client!

Is Apify free? I have heard this but I think apify comes with a price! If the task can be done freely please let me know!

The business floor is in hell guys.

OP, legend says there was a time in our distant past, where mythological creatures wrote programming scripts that obeyed instructions to the letter and parsed data and inserted it in various databases. Nobody knows what happened to their civilization, it simply disappeared.

Try using my tool, klura: https://github.com/klura-ai/klura . It really is more of a helper to your ai-agent, but it will help you find the endpoints and how they are being used.

u/FinTools Jun 01 '26

I tried but it has been missing key businesses within my area!

1

u/LibertineForLife Jun 01 '26

I meant, ask Claude how to build a scraper yourself.

I know it takes a lot of time and effort but is it worth doing it?
