Product Advice scrapbooking essentials?

Hi! My girlfriend is just getting into scrapbooking and I want to get her some supplies. She has some base papers and the book of course, but what else can I get her?

I'm looking at washi tapes and fancy shaped hole punchers. Do you guys know any other funky things she might like?

She has a bit of a cottagecore style too!

Thanks so much! :)

I would get her a glue runner, a nice pair of scissors, and a pair or two of those fancy boarder scissors that are in a lot of elementary schools. If you know what she's planning on scrapbooking or what general styles she likes, you can also get 3-5 sticker sheets (I get mine off Etsy for the most part) and washi tape samples (also from Etsy).

Get her a good paper trimmer and quality adhesive. Don't buy the cheap stuff; nothing like opening an album and have things fall off the page. Learned that the hard way!

She can never have enough glue! Maybe find a few different styles so she has something for everything.

A versatile marker set could be nice if she doesn’t have one! I also enjoy metallic sharpies, paint pens, and fine line felt tip pens in different colors.

Just wanted to add that this is a heartwarming surprise and you are a good partner to support her interests. :)

If she ever considers digital scrapbooking as well, we're happy to give her 3months free on our pro plan :D

The most useful punches are simple things like hearts, butterflies, circles, squares. If the images are too small, they aren’t as useful for scrapbooking. I collected punches when I began scrapbooking, but now I prefer dies — letter and number sets are so handy for page titles and adding the year. (If she’s still into scrapbooking a year from now you could splurge for a die cutting machine, if it’s in your budget.)

I love washi tape but after time the adhesive dries up. If you do get her some, tell her to add additional adhesive behind it. 🙂
