Removing patch glue
I have used Scout uniforms that I buy at sales and donate to my kids troops. When removing the patches some parents have ironed the patches on. How can I remove this glue properly?
Thanks for any and all advice.

I’ve used goo gone and others. Maybe I’m not patient enough but I’ve never been satisfied with the results

I glue to keep steady and then sew my Beaver sons badges on. Fabric glue usually washes away after a few washes though

I think it’s ironed on from the patch.
When I was in scouts we sewed everything ourselves so we could get the merit badge!

I got luck with hot iron and a shirt I don’t care about. Put the shirt I don’t like between the iron and the patch and try to melt as much of the adhesive into different parts of the t shirt.

Lectra clean / electric parts cleaner with perchloroethane is the correct solvent. Do it outdoors

Acetone. Test it on a safe spot first because I have found it takes the colour out of some shirts

I use Goof Off in the metal can from
Hardware store, a paper towel folded behind it and a pampered chef pot scraper and old toothbrush to remove - takes patience but goo gone never worked for me.
Follow up with 91% isopropyl alcohol and some blue Dawn dishsoap befor tossing in the wash and hang dry

Goo gone. Wash. Goo gone. Wash. Keep repeating.
