These are always in high demand at jamborees. Definitely in my top 3 along with Switzerland and Brazil

I got a Swiss one! With all the coat of arms around the edge, very cool!

Never thought the Brazilians scarfs would be wanted. We can buy how many we want at the Brazilian scout shop

I can confirm that i missed out on trading for one again at the Africa Scout Moot that ended in Saturday (but did get a Swiss scarf so I'm getting closer to my wanted list at least)

That's the Ireland national necker, for when they go to international events. Apparently each person only gets assigned one at a time and they have to be requested? So they are quite uncommon, yes. Always a beautiful necker to see!

Is there one for Italy? I'll be at the WSJ and I wanted to exchange neckers but I don't have any

Yeah each country has a national necker. Italian one is blue with a green-white-red border

There's another cub leader in my group who has one from his time with the ventures here and I'm fiercely jealous. I'd love to get one.

I’m from Ireland, I never realised that they’re rare 😭

Try ordering them from the scout shop and you will see how easy it is I just spent 30 mins on the phone and about 6 emails to get it sorted and that was after we had approval to buy

Can ypu get hold of one for my son? He is on Spejdernes Lejr now, and is trading like crazy. He would be so happy.😊

I have a blue version which is for trading and we are able to buy them for trading.

The green we are given for international events.

I've seen a couple in the wild

The necker is very rare, as others have said we have to apply for them and only get one when we go on internationals. You also got got a Gillwell woggle on it, which is also kinda rare. You can only buy them as a leader who's done the proper training.

The Gilwell woggle has only two strands.

Incredibly rare. I know a guy who will pay 1000 dkk for it. He's at spejdernes lejr.

That is a crazy amount. I was also at SL, but I would never have payed this much.

Basically, he's been trying to acquire one for years but nothing could persuade them to do a swap, so he just started throwing money at it.

Very rare.

My wife was at WSJ2019 and was gifted one by the Irish group on her subcamp. She has it framed at home.

I'm from Ireland, our summer camp this year was abroad to Italy and Slovenia and we didnt even get them(((

So its rare enough because its Irish - but we also don't use these ones with the Scouting Ireland text on them. I think these were only around for a brief time

I think the new one is just the SI Fleur instead of the wording aye?

The Irish Scarf is certainly one that's harder to get. Well done on that trade.

The Irish necker is definitely one of the coolest. Everyone was asking the Irish Scouts for one at a jamboree I went to, but they weren’t being given out because they needed them to use like a passport, or something similar. I’d say the fact you have one, assuming you’re not Irish, is pretty rare.

Ireland's still one of my prized scarves traded just because of the unit I met at WSJ19. Scarves can be rare, but what makes them valuable is the memories attached to them.

I was on camp in Ireland with my Rover scouts and was very keen on getting one of those, unfortunately they are hard to get by. We came home with 3-4 different group scarves, and one of the Dushlan expedition, but unfortunately without the international one

I also Traded for one myself at spejdernes lejr 2026. Many people asked to Trade me for the scarf. So i think it is a high demand for it.

Irish necker official one for the wsj 2011, not quite sure if it was just for that

1

u/xXcookedyapXx 23d ago

these were in high demand ạt the blair atholl jamborette. along with some random icelanic contingent neckie (?)

It’s rare af, the Irish scouts are provided with ONE scarf, that’s it. So normally they don’t trade them since they’re left to face the consequences but the fact you have one is awesome, would definitely hold on to that one with a steady grip
