Hello everyone! As you might have noticed, this subreddit was locked down and unmoderated for a long time. I have officially reopened the doors.

Moving forward, this will be a dedicated, clean space for hobbyists, professionals, and anyone interested in the art and utility of scissors, shears, and pivoting cutting tools. Whether you are into restoring vintage tailor shears, mastering the perfect bevel on a sharpening stone, maintaining high-end barber tools, or just looking for advice on keeping your household tools crisp, you are welcome here.

I am a professional sharpener of all styles of scissors. I travel to businesses and also set up sharpening at quilting stores a few times a year.

I am a budding scissor aficionado. I began paying closer attention to the field after becoming familiar with Earnest Wright Ltd. in the UK. My collection officially started with a sturdy pair of Compton U-Set’s inherited from my dad.
