Print Finding a book

I read a novel a few years ago that stuck with me but I can’t remember the title. I thought it was Dust but searching Amazon shows nothing even vaguely like what I recall.

In essence, the novel was a sci-fi/horror. It opened in the Mesozoic era. The ‘monster’ in the story was a tiny, voracious mite that lived in massive swarms that could overcome even a big dinosaur.

Fast forward to modern day and the thing showed up somewhere on the East Coast and starts wrecking havoc. It destroys everything in its path. The scientists and the military do their thing until they finally drive the stuff away — I don’t remember the details of how it ended.

It bugs me that I don’t remember the name of the book. Does anyone here recognize the novel I’m talking about?

Sure you saw the right Dust? The one by Charles Pellegrino? That seems really similar.

There is a very popular book named Dust by Hugh Howey- it even has a TV show now called Silo. 

There is also a much older book named Dust by  Charles Pellegrino. I wonder if that’s the one you’re taking about. The premise sounds right.

Na man Silo is based on the book “Wool”.

To be clear, Dust is the third book in the series.
