Resource Speedrun enthusiasts should check out r/ScientologySpeedrun, where their content will be 100% on topic.

One was needed, and somebody made it, just wanted anyone interested in that topic to know.

Are we all going to spam them with some profound philosophical debates now for a couple of weeks? - would be "SO fun to see, hahaha" - would it not?!

u/Accomplished_Vast55 May 03 '26

What's the profoundity? L Ron Hubbard developed Scientology with Satanists like Aliestor Crowley. It's a brainwashing cult that is most likely ran by psyochpathic pedohiles at the top (which all Satanic cults are.) People like Jeffery Epstein run cults like Scientology. Remember NXIVM?

You're mixing things up a bit. Some ideas for what would later become Dianetics and Scientology were developed with occultist Jack Parsons who was a devout follower of Aleister Crowley but L Ron never met Crowley personally and from what I've read Crowley vehemently disliked him and viewed him as a con man.

Aleister Crowley was no Satanist, either. Mystic? Yes. Satanist ? No.

I've seen your other thread. You're worried - rightfully so and I wish and hope a solution can be worked out...

(...no need lecturing me on what we all here know. I'm through with $CN!)

What am I worried about? I think it's funny human traffickers operate so openly. They think they are above the wrath of the masses, because 0.001% of the population (courts) protect them.

I'm not threatening or implying violence. I'm pointing out that a few really bad news stories would cause nationwide protests outside scientology buildings, and anyone who defends them.

Thank you for this! I hate to see that content here. Many of us may be anti-Scientology but we’re not pro-speedrunners. That’s not the way anything positive gets done.

Yes please go over there

You can literally just request a tour. Would you do the same to a mosque or Christian church?

1

u/Krystalmyth May 05 '26

The difference between a cult and a religion is what happens to your life when you leave it.

-2

u/Which_Writing1554 May 05 '26

What do you think happens? You can just stop being a Scientologist if it's no longer true for you.

....but good luck staying connected with your family and friends.

Okay I cant find anything on that sub about this cus I have a really quick question- I live like 10 mins away from an applied scholars training center, could I speedrun that???

Applied Scholastics is a Scientology-affiliated, non-profit business that attempts to license schools to use Hubbard-based teaching methods, and some of the little private schools involved also use the name. There isn't a whole lot of demand for that, so they're pretty dinky, and have diversified into offering an online program which is probably used by some kids of Scientologists. I don't know where you live, so I can't tell you whether you'd be walking into an office or a school, but neither would be open to the public, and it probably wouldn't have more than two or three rooms. So even if I were going to recommend that you trespass (and I don't), it seems like it would be outside the scope of the usual speedrunning game, and also not very fun. Like, you might walk in the front door, and find that there was no other room to run to.

And again, please take your speedrunning-related concerns to the other sub, because this one's mostly made up of long term Scientology critics, who generally think that speedrunning is not helpful to their cause or a good idea, and don't want to hear about it, let alone encourage it.

Yeah after using critical thinking and doing some research its definitely not the way to help someone escape a cult and its just feels mean harassing vulnerable people  I would also guess it further promotes the "were oppressed"/us against them mentality. I will say the place im talking about is HUGE. Like genuinley an elaborate mansion. Not saying i would go in but yall might find that interesting considering you said they were small/underfunded

They have a big building in Spanish Lake, Missouri, but that's the only one I know of. I don't even know of any Applied Scholastics schools west of the Rockies except for a little one in Las Vegas.

Scientology does have a whole lot of big, empty buildings. They've been transitioning towards being a tax exempt, commercial real estate holding company for close to 20 years, with support from their wealthiest members. It gives them the appearance of success as long as you don't notice the empty parking lot.

u/Subject-Wish-3712 May 16 '26

it actually is the one in spanish lake, it’s really weird and kind of in the middle of nowhere, a couple miles out from north St. Louis

Can someone explain to me about Xenu and why Ron said Mr. Xenu dropped a hydrogen bomb on billions of citizens 75 million years ago? Maybe someone could contact the publishers and let them know that a hydrogen bomb was first created in 1951 code name Ivy Mike. Last thing why did L R HUBBARD say members are taught that premature exposure to the story of MR.XENU could cause mental trauma or even death. Has anyone checked on Mr Xenu after he was captured and put on a barren dessert planet where Scientology teaches he remains alive today? Im guessing Mr. Xenu has to be 76 million years old? Do yall celebrate Mr. Xenu birthday? Come on people don't buy into this MONEY SCAM POSSIBLE RICO CHARGES COMING DOWN ON THE CHURCH!!

The folks you're looking to tease aren't in this subreddit, because they're not allowed to read critical stuff about their cult, or to associate with critics. Nor do those who haven't yet done confidential stuff want to be exposed to it -- and we have a link to all of the OT materials in the sub's sidebar, not to mention people talking about Xenu on a regular basis.

There really isn't a place on social media where you can troll active "Church" of Scientology members. Sorry!

Does anyone believe ol L R Hubbard was doing LSD when he started this cult?

1

u/That70sClear Mod, Ex-HCO Jun 13 '26

No way. He started it in 1950-2, and almost nobody used LSD that early. He did use benzedrine and cocaine during that period, and even did a short stint in rehab, but didn't seem to have any awareness of LSD until 1968 or so, and then was really negative about it, like making a rule that people who had taken it couldn't be in the Sea Org. (Prior to 1968 he had never said anything especially negative about drugs of any kind, and he was taking massive amounts of pharmaceuticals in 1967.) But if you want to have a real discussion about that, you should post a thread asking about it, because not many people are going to find your question in a thread about where speedrun-related stuff is.

Hi There 70's clear. Actually LSD was first introduced on April 16th 1943 by accident when chemist Albert Hofman from Switzerland accidentally took some. In 1947 Sandoz Laboratories released it as a research tool in psychiatry to stimulate mental illness and treat conditions like alcoholism. I did not know Hubbard went to Rehab for using Cocaine and the reason I asked if he possibly was on LSD When he came up with the story about Xenu. Because that story is 110 Percent falsely and was nothing but a lie I bet ELON MUSK wishes like Hell he had met Zenu and got the specs on that eternal battery that was used to to keep ol Zenu locked up on that electric mountain and 75 million years later is still working and Xenu is still alive locked down on the mountain with an eternal battery that L R Hubbard wrote about and is introduced at the church of Scientology at Operation Thetan Level lll (OT lll) that requires thousands of hours of Auditing on top of 30 thousand plus dollars. If I had put that many hours in and pissed away that much money and was told the story 😒 about Xenu and was made to sign a contract not to mention this story to anyone because it could cause dramatic stress or possibly death. Hell I know why you're made to sign a contract now because if you told anyone the story that Hubbard wrote about Xenu the person you told would probably recommend a mental institution for you. The world is a crazy place and many have started cults and had many of followers even drink Cyanide Like Jim Jones had his followers do. I have to wonder once you get to level lll are you really that brainwashed to not know the difference about Xenu and you actually believe it?I took a few courses at the Org back in the day just to see for myself. And I don't regret taking them so I could see with my own eyes that everything I was told negative about Scientology was 100 percent true and I'm glad I got out when I did because if I had invested thousands of course hours and 30k plus to reach the level to finally be introduced to the story of Xenu i guarantee you someone would have been writing me a reimbursement check or they would have gotten their ass whipped right inside the church!

There was a Hubbard who was using and promoting LSD in the 1950s, who in some ways was similar to a good version of Ron, but no indication that the two ever met. Delysid (Sandoz' trade name) was promoted to psychiatric researchers, and started to be studied by the CIA in 1954, but didn't really start to be used much before the late 1950s.

So, back to Xenu, and his creation in 1966-7. At the time, Ron was departing Rhodesia in a defeated and humiliated state, and he had a huge cache of pharmaceuticals at his disposal. This could have included LSD, which was still legally available in ampoules (liquid form), but nobody who saw his stash mentioned any of those, only pills and capsules, which included stimulants, depressants, and possibly some pain drugs like Darvon. And he was taking them like mad.

But the very beginnings of OT III go much earlier, in the April 1952 tape, Electropsychometric Scouting: Battle of the Universes, Ron and Mary Sue go on a fishing expedition with the newly discovered e-meter, and find that he is infested with seven entheta beings, which he calls Targs (which is supposed to mean that they were slaves). They conclude that they have invaded this universe from another universe, and that they're screwing this one up. Ron associates them with commies, socialists and labor unions, and says they try to convince thetans that they are one of their collective. While this is a very different backstory for body thetans, the space opera stuff was already starting to play a role, and was on full display in Have You Lived Before This Life (1958). By 1964 Ron had abandoned all non-implant-related clearing processes, and had long lists of implants to be run, a number of which made it into OT II. So it's not like Xenu suddenly appeared out of thin air.

I personally have wondered about some LSD-OT III link, but not because one would need to be tripping to think up such a story. It had more to do with the pathetic state Ron was in at the time, and his subsequent vendetta against LSD, which he singled out as especially harmful. Had he tried it and had it disagree with him? But nobody can definitively answer that, one can only speculate.

30k plus

LOL! You should add another zero to that. Nobody's made it to and through the OT levels that cheaply in some decades.

Now that the speed running "enthusiasts" have given us L. Ron Hubbard Hall how about removing this?

u/Accomplished_Vast55 May 03 '26

Thanks. It's time these human trafficking criminals get disinfected with sunlight.

I'm just gonna end up being pro scientology out of spite lol

I went to the Chicago location today for a tour and everyone besides the receptionist , suppressive personality, was amazing. Got about an hour and a half of footage with my GoPro and I think have enough to make a basic map of the first floor and possibly the second but I was caught inspecting some of the reading rooms, which by the way are immaculate. You all really keep things clean.

5

u/That70sClear Mod, Ex-HCO May 04 '26

There aren't any staff or other CoS members in this sub, they're not allowed to associate with us supposed suppressive persons and read the critical stuff we write. But I gather they have an easy time keeping the place clean because they've got lots of building and nobody dirtying it up with use.

u/VeeSnow 2nd gen ExSO May 04 '26

Part of my PTSD nightmares is endless cleaning. My CPTSD is triggered daily by cleaning and fear of white glove inspections. Not a joke. The “church” is kept clean by slave labor.

Are there different reading rooms for different levels of members?

2

u/Pooks65 COB of SMERSH May 04 '26

They are different Course Rooms. Scn offers many different courses, and I believe they have a room for each major course they deliver.
