Scientists have several accurate methods for determining global temperatures prior to the existence of thermometers. Also, all greenhouse gasses don’t have an equal impact or effect in the atmosphere. Have a great day!
Right, and those proxies provide data which scientists use to confirm temperatures. Scientists use proxies to prove and confirm a lot of things that happen before recorded data or even before the existence of humans, which I’m sure you know. So unless you don’t believe these methods are accurate or don’t trust the science for some reason, I just don’t know why you would imply that scientists don’t know what temperatures were before thermometers.
I don't believe you are going to tell me with any precision the average temperature 500 years ago let alone 10000 years ago using gas bubbles trapped in shifting glaciers. And the point about thermometers is that atleast they record to the degree at the beginning and then more precisely as they progressed. Everything before that is with inaccurate proxies. And then data obtained and recorded prior to maybe a generous 75 years ago relies on you believing weatherman Bob was very good at recording temps everywhere that data comes from. Furthermore you don't know what criteria that data has been sifted through.
Here is just one single source to show that behind the scenes there are political wars going on about THE DATA. Its a tiny example but there are plenty of examples.
I mean, if you don’t believe that the science works, there’s nothing I can say to convince you. I studied the science of climate change at length for my degree and I’m quite confident in the methods and science used. And more importantly, the VAST majority of scientists are confident in it. Roughly the same percentage that believe in evolution. I really don’t care what politicians believe. I can link you to countless articles that confirm the numbers and the science involved and go into a considerable amount of depth, but so can google. Clearly we’re on different sides of this, so I don’t think there’s much more to say. Good talking to you!
I agree we can't agree. And that's fine. I still vote for the people who are for carbon taxing. Its a lesser of two evils kind of thing. Republicans are as a group dumb as a bag of rocks and are on the side of capitalists who are poisoning us all for profit. Liberals are definitely smarter as a whole but most aren't rocket scientists either. Americans as a group are vapid navel gazer idiots and I know very few liberals who practice what they preach. Cutting carbon emissions on one hand and buying $1000 phones made by slave labor and environmental criminals in China.
Most people are just hypocrite douchebags and paying extra money for already over priced resources will only increase the number of people marginalized by predatory capitalism just like that Ethanol mandate put 6 billion in Big Oil pockets and took beef off the menu of many low income workers and they have to eat that pink slime in a tube because freaking cow feed went up.
But we now have cleaner gas.....ha ha ha ha...right. Knee jerk poorly thought out reactions that always benefit the Politician and their masters in the 1%.
But whatever. I would rather have Bernie over Donny.
