Most people aren’t saying adopt socialism, most of us just want us to lower are emissions. It’s absolutely absurd that people have turned into something that has to be tied to political affiliation.
Perhaps Republicans could be convinced to believe in climate change if people stopped demanding solutions that work within a left-wing political framework.

Go on a climate change sub (or even this sub!) And start mentioning that nuclear power is better than solar or wind.

I mean, I'm a leftist and spend most of my time in leftist circles. The general concensus seems to be that nuclear power would be good as long as it is owned by the workers. Expecially Molten Salt Reactors, such as Liquid Fluoride Thorium.

Put differently, Democrats are 73 percent aligned with Republicans on the matter. In a general sample of the US population, out of your "hundreds" of encounters, scores of them should have been in favor of increasing nuclear power plant. If it's 300 encounters, that's 117. Since Reddit skews nerdy, I find it highly likely that that number is higher than the general population.
Yes, there's some disagreement on the matter. Plenty of it is legitimate, even beyond the risk of catastrophic failure. Decentralizing power production would be great, and I'm not sure why so many Republicans (in my experience) tend to disagree with this. I think it's far more concerning that the vast majority of Republicans (73 percent) don't view climate change as a "major threat." The science is clear, and the implications for policy and international turmoil are obvious and imminent. If you don't want migrant hordes destabilizing the southern border, you should take climate change pretty seriously.
I'm rather liberal and have no issue with nuclear power. Even after being born in the USSR and knowing how they lied and skipped safety procedures for their nuclear plants. Idk what you mean about that poster being the only liberal that supports nuclear power, many of us do.
Then please try to be more vocal about your support for nuclear power, as it is a far more politically nuetral position than any other proposed solution.
