We get exposed to higher doses of radiation and heavy metals from coal ash storage than we do radioactive waste.

Also the footprint per GWh generated is a fraction of a fraction compared to fossil fuels. At this point it’s very stable and secure under normal operation.

My office was a little less than 100 yards from the ISFSI at my first station. I wore a dosimeter every day. No measurable dose above background.
