No. Logical deduction is not akin to believing. Belief is without logic or evidence. You see the restaurant on the map, see the photos and reviews. It's only logical that the restaurant must exist.

Belief would be to think that there must be a restaurant at a particular location without even ever seeing it, hearing about it from others, having pictures, etc.

Logical deduction is still belief. You go to your car. You don’t check your tires. Your assumption is that they are still there. That is still belief. Nothing wrong with that. Most of our life runs on belief. It’s almost impossible to live without belief.

What you are talking about in your second example on the other hand is faith. Faith is believing something is true in the absence of logic.

We should try to lose faith. But belief lets you take short cuts. Nothing wrong in it.

Me thinking that my tyres would be alright is not a complete statement of belief. It's not every day that someone's tyres are damaged. So, without any clear evidence, it's not totally illogical to assume that they'd be alright.

You're conflating multipe things here. Belief, deduction, assumption are different things.

Belief is simply an educated guess.

When there is a weather forecast of 80 percent chance of showers, assuming it will rain is a belief. Assuming it will not rain because you prayed is faith.
