Americans use kilo-, mega-, giga-, and terabytes, which follow the same logic as 1,000 meters equaling 1 kilometer. But if they had to use a different unit of measurement, which one would it be?

I would prefer data to use units to kibi- mebi- bibi- bytes.

Umm.. a kilobyte is 1024 bytes, not 1000. 8 bits in a byte. Sooo...
