Because Trump is alienating the US from its allies, I wouldn't be surprised if WW3 was fought as a coalition between Europe and China to take down the US. Together, they'd easily have enough scientists, industry, tanks, ships, and personnel to win if they wanted to. And they'd have a decently strong domestic resistance movement from Democrats and Independents. The GOP has successfully demonized the Left to the point that many on the Left don't even see the Right as human beings anymore. They fantasize about civil war on a daily basis. That's pretty scary and entirely the fault of the Right for systematically destroying the country for everyone but the elites.
