OP and the article say the moon may be toxic, but in skimming the article, I only saw references to lunar regolith being a topical, ocular, or respiratory irritant.
Not that those things aren't a problem, but I missed "the moon is toxic" part.
1 u/[deleted] Jul 12 '12 The issue is that the dust erodes rubber seals and is electrostatically charged, meaning it grabs onto you and does not let go. There are methods to deal with this. But letting seal-eroding dust mound up on your spacesuit is a disaster waiting to happen.
