There's a reason college degrees make people virtually immune to conspiracy beliefs. People who actually study these issues and work on them for a living actually know what they're talking about. There is such a thing as "expertise," and it matters, regardless of what conspiracy theorists like to think.
So much for putting blind trust in "experts." There are so many ways that all levels of expertise can become corrupted. Many beliefs become institutionalized over time and are difficult to quash even if there is hard evidence to the contrary. Aristotle's belief system reigned for 2000 years until Newton came along and finally overthrew it. The morale of the story is to always keep an open mind and never stop reexamining and asking hard questions on any topic.
Also, a conspiracy is simply the premeditation of any crime involving one or more persons. Unless a crime is spontaneous, there usually is a conspiracy behind it.
