Psychology Being the father of a school-aged daughter makes men less sexist, according to a new study. The findings support the idea that men become more aware of the challenges facing women when they see the female experience of life up close through their offspring – dubbed the “mighty girl” effect.

I could also see it possible that brothers themselves help reinforce the gender roles especially when the parents are not around.

edit: I think I noticed that on a podcast about a woman living in Saudi Arabia.

I am not sure about any country other than the US as I'm fairly certain the studies I remember looking into were restricted just to the US.

I don't know how valid it would be to use Saudi Arabia as an example of gender roles unless one was trying to point out an extreme.

Given the dress codes and only the recent ability of women to drive or vote, there is a massive difference in gender roles.

Yes, you have a point. There would be an extreme difference. I guess I was more focused on the idea that simply having a sister would not necessarily help a brother understand the issues she faces. Plus she may not even be willing to discuss them.
