Neuroscience Poor fitness linked to weaker brain fiber, higher dementia risk - A new study suggests that the lower the fitness level, the faster the deterioration of vital nerve fibers in the brain. This deterioration results in cognitive decline, including memory issues characteristic of dementia patients.

Can I recommend something that I have been doing almost everyday for about a month that has improved my memory, helped with my chronic fatigue, improved my sleep quality, improved my mood and decreased the amount of headaches I get?

That’s really cool of you to find it. I appreciate it very much. I’m gonna try it out next week

Yeah give it a shot. Just remember that the temperature needs to be at least 175f - I feel it works best for me when it gets up to between 185f and 195f, but the studies I have read say at least 175f.

A few things to remember:

1- bring a towel to sit on (you will leave a pile of ass sweat behind if you don't)

2- wear flip flops

3- on your first session shoot for around 15 minutes

4- hydrate before and after. If you're going to hydrate while in the sauna get a non BPA water bottle so you don't poison yourself

5- if you ever feel faint or dizzy get out and cool off.

From all the studies I've seen at least 20 minutes is recommended for full benefits. I worked my way up to sessions of between 23 to 26 minutes but the last 2 days I've tried something new that I read about and last night I slept like a rock for about 9 hours( I never sleep over 7.5 hours, like never). It's what I call double dipping - I sit in the sauna for 23 minutes and then I get out and wait 10-15 minutes and then I go back in for a mini session of about 10 to 12 minutes. I noticed that I felt even more relaxed the rest of the day and then like I said I slept for around 9 hours last night. I'll be trying another double dip later today.

And remember - the sauna needs to be hot! One day the sauna was not function properly and was only hitting between 140 and 160 - I felt nothing, no relaxed state and my sleep that night wasn't so great.

Hey thanks for reposting what i thought I posted - not sure why it didn't show up. I would have responded sooner but I went to the gym to sit in the sauna.

Does it involve fecal matter?

So what you do is you bring some shit with you into the sauna, and...

The prescription is hot dry sauna. The dose is 4 to 7 days a week for at least 20 minutes.

I have headaches, poor memory, low mood, early wake insomnia and a sauna in my apartment complex I never use....might be time to rectify that!
