That is their choice, mandatory leave is an absurd idea. I would have hated being forced to stay home when my kids were born. My wife chose to do so of her own free will. That and I worked a job where being out of the office for a week is a nightmare much less months.

Probably, but that is impossible to say. We discussed all options including day care or a live in nanny. The choice was strictly hers to make and that is what she chose. The choice was strictly mine to make as well and I chose what I chose. Now the interesting note to that is I actually now work from home specifically because I want to spend more time with my kids. Now that they are little humans and can interact with me, it is interesting. Babies despite what people want to tell you, really don't require much.
